It started in 2020 with two guys, a studio, and a pandemic that cancelled everything except bad ideas. Nico and JJ started jamming, the chemistry clicked, and before long there were six of them crammed into a rehearsal room with nowhere to perform and nothing but time.

When the world eventually reopened, they played their first show. People came, danced and wanted more. The band grew, members came and went. Singapore does that but JJ kept Durian Durian dream alive through every lineup change, farewell drink, and “we’ll stay in touch”.

The Durian Durian style evolved too. What started as rock and pop gradually found its groove. A little soul here, some R&B there, a funk bass line that refuses to apologise. Durian Durian v5 hits different.

Now JJ himself is the one leaving. Heading back to France, bass in hand, with a band that sounds better than ever and zero intention of going quietly.

So we’re doing what any self-respecting band would do: one last night, one great room, with the people who matter.
